Overall, it's a decent game, it's a decent rogue-lite and and pretty enjoyable co-op game in short bursts, but I really can't find anything that makes me want to leave a gleaming review. Death Road to Canada is a roguelike for the Nintendo Switch. There's some rogue-lite elements and gameplay settings which can spice up each run, but I found that it never really affected the core gameplay enough that it made the very simple and very repetitive gameplay feel like much fun. That's how Death Road To Canada plays out, a game that combines exploration with driving as you fight off a zombie horde on your way to the Great White North in the hopes of starting a new life. Each time you play, a unique adventure is generated providing a good mix of text-based storytelling, role-playing and classic button-bashing action. The minimalist pixel-art style is fine but not all that memorable, and the the very simple animation doesn't help much either. The game has some quirky and amusing writing here and there which accompanies the boisterous music and gameplay, making for a silly, high-energy game. I found the gameplay to get repetitive fairly quickly, and the game often left me frustrated due to it's largely luck based decision making which persists throughout the entire game.
